We will add this new tidbit of information to the “We had no idea!” category!  While we have been huge fans of The Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA) since the architectural icon was completed, we are sad to admit that we’ve found only a few good reasons to enjoy the venue.  That may soon change since we have just come to learn that the TCA has added a very impressive regular calendar of events. One of the new events that grabbed our attention attempts to put to good use the Lobby bar within the TCA. With stunning lakeside views, the lobby bar is a exquisitely designed space that just begs fans of good design to linger.  It appears that downtown Tempe residents now have an excuse to do just that!  Walt Richardson, a well known Downtown Tempe staple, hosts an “Open Mic” night every Wednesday night from 7pm till 11pm.  Musicians and poets are encouraged to perform and there are appetizer and drink specials from 5pm till 7pm.

Now we all have a good excuse to linger around Tempe Town Lake’s finest architectural landmark.
