Two New Restaurants Planned for Mill Avenue
In the last few months, we’ve seen a flurry of announcements for new restaurants in Downtown Tempe and on Mill Avenue. In previous posts, we have already mentioned Sucker Punch Sallys Diner (serving breakfast all day), Smashburger (serving sizzling burgers), Five Guys Burgers and Fries (serving more burgers), and the re-opening of Regions Bistro and Bar (hopefully, serving better food at lower prices than they did before)!
Now, there are reports of two new restaurants coming to Mill Avenue. Can we get a drum roll please?!
Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches &
Clancy’s Irish Pub.
While we have no personal experience with either of these concepts, the feedback from those who have been to Jimmy John’s are very favorable. (Click the link to their web site above to view their full menu.) Unfortunately, we were unable to determine which Clancy’s Irish Pub was opening in downtown. We’ll keep you posted when we find a web link.
Most importantly, don’t let this little tid-bit of information slip by you! According to a representative of the Centerpoint development (think old Coffee Plantation’s space, etc.) this announcement, along with the previous, brings the currently vacant retail and restaurant space close to 100% occupancy! Obviously, this is really good news for Tempe and for those of us who have been disturbed by the blacked out windows and vacancies on Mill Avenue. Last, most of these new tenants will be opened and operating by Spring 2010!
