Could it be true?  Did we really just see this or are our eyes playing evil tricks on us? (anxiously rubbing our eyes) Nope- sure enough- the sign hanging on the abandoned Papa John’s building at 735 E University Drive (University Drive just West of Rural) states:

“America’s Taco Shop Coming Soon”!

Really? This might be the best news we’ve heard for Tempe since, well, since forever!  (Ok, that may be a slight exaggeration.)

Every so often we’ll find a little spot in the Downtown Phoenix area and think to ourselves, “Boy, sure wish we had this in Tempe!”.  Of course, we’d never say that out loud because Tempe is always better than Phoenix, right? ;-)  When we happened to stumble upon the spicy Carne Asada goodness found inside the little house along 7th, we knew we’d be making regular trips back.

That is still true.  Until this actually opens in Tempe we’ll have to return to Phoenix for the tender goodness found in their soft burritos and crunchy tacos... but when it opens... we’ll have one less reason to get into our car.
