Mill Avenue Restaurants
Antars Sports Bistro to Perch Above Mill Ave
The Brickyard on Mill has been a fairly lonely place since Borders Books & Music vacated the corner of 7th Street & Mill Avenue last year. But, what has been missed even more by locals (locals = “us”), is the tasty Asian fare that was once wok-ed and served from the 2nd floor balcony at The Bamboo Club. So, when we heard that a new restaurant lease had just been inked for the 7,000+ square foot space, our mouth’s started watering. No, The Bamboo Club isn’t making a surprise return to sell scrumptious Cantonese Noodles. The new restaurant tenant will be Antars Sports Bistro. According to the company’s slogan, Antars is “Where Gourmet Food Meets Sports”. (Umm... Brilliant!)
Ok, while we know this concept has been played more times than the Suns have been booted from the playoffs, (think “Champs”, “Fox Sports Grill”, etc.) we’ve actually heard some good things about the moderately priced food. (“High-end” compared to most sports-bar dives.)

So, we are actually looking forward to seeing Antars open up in the old Bamboo Club space. Since the lease was just signed, we wouldn’t expect any grand opening announcements for a few months, but just stay tuned and we’ll keep you in the know. Just remember to refrain from ordering Antars “Santa Fe Lettuce Wraps”... in honor of The Bamboo Club, of course.
